The Arturia DrumBrute packs 10 different drum sounds: kick, two snares, high tom/low tom, cymbal/cowbell, closed hi-hat, open hi-hat, and FM percussion. Bridging the gap between inspiration and technology, DrumBrute offers punchy analog drum sounds, advanced 64 step / 64 pattern sequencing possibilities and. ![]() Best of all, the Drumbrute's minimal sounds and lack of saved parameters are now a plus: Since both machines are playing the same pattern at the same time, I'll play with the Drumbrute's volume, filter and individual sounds to add some subtle texture to the DR-770 sounds. Being able to use the Drumbrute's sequencer and performance controls with the DR-770's drum kits is really really fun (especially the looper and randomizer functions). I mapped the Drumbrute's pads to match the corresponding DR-770 pads and will play simple patterns on both machines at the same time. I was thinking about selling my Drumbrute after just 6 months of owning it, but I set it up as a MIDI controller for my Boss DR-770 and it has given both drum machines a second life for me. I own a drumbrute and I do think it has some deal-breaking limitations by itself (not being able to save sound parameters is terrible, and the sounds themselves kinda suck if you don't have any external effects to run them through), but if you have a good idea of how to use it in your setup it can be really fantastic.
